THE NAME…
Pronounced "à la art"
…a creative term that borrows its structure from the French phrase "à la carte." In the context of the art world, "à la art" refers to an approach where artistic creations, techniques, and styles are chosen or created individually, akin to selecting items from a menu.
It embodies the spirit of artistic freedom and personalized expression, allowing artists to explore various mediums, styles, and concepts without being confined to a specific artistic genre or tradition.
Words from the founder…
Over the past 8 years, I’ve had the privilege of working with leading art galleries in Malaysia and Canada, as well as contributing to Malaysia’s inaugural pavilion at the 54th Biennale di Venezia. These experiences shaped my understanding of how art, culture and commerce intersect on a global scale.
I founded A LA ART to create a space where I could support artists, art collectors and professionals by creating a system of solutions designed specifically to meet their real needs, especially for those emerging, overlooked or navigating today’s challenging art market.
I see A LA ART as more than a platform. It’s a commitment to advancing artists’ careers while guiding collectors in building thoughtful and lasting collections. I look forward to sharing my insight and nurturing art with you.
